The Oregon's player presented a clothing line Hines' t-shirts for kidsCANTU' Raising money for less fortunate kids! Encouraging kids in their studies is the main goal of the Samuel Hines S.A.M. (Securing A Mind) Foundation. March 5, 2004, Samuel Hines, Cantu starting small forward, presented his initiative at Brickoven restaurant. The Foundation, established in 1999, is based in Atlanta and tries to help kids who live in needy families, with little money - Hines tells -. I use my free time for this cause. Through my foundation, we organize two basketball camps in the United States (North Carolina and Georgia) to give opportunities to kids to learn basketball skills. The campers participants have the opportunity to dialogue with lawyers, correctional officers, social workers, educators, professional athletes, members of the clergy and many others. The camps are open for boys and girls from 8 to 18, in addition to kids accommodated from Foundation. With the money that is raised, scholarship(s) are also given to campers who maintain a 3.0 grade point average. Hines has designed some T-shirts and a hat that goes on sale March 6th. Products are sold in the shop "Laura Mazzola", Via Carcano 4, Cantù (phone number: +39-031-714184) and in the restaurant "Brickoven", Via Como, 23, Cantù (phone number: +39-031-7073824).
